I am a Vietnamese-American board-certified psychiatrist, and have had the privilege of calling Portland, OR home for many years. My first exposures to the importance of mental health care occurred during my undergraduate studies, where I developed an appreciation for our shared human condition, and how we, as individuals and communities, can help each other heal from suffering. I completed my medical school and residency training at Oregon Health & Science University, where I came to understand the interconnectedness between our mental and physical health, continuing a mission of service to others.
As a psychiatrist, I treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders with the use of both medications and psychotherapy. I conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and evaluate treatment results.
My primary focus is improving the day-to-day function of my patients, which impacts their relationships and interactions with others, their ability to live more fully in the present moment, and fosters opportunities for self-growth and development. I utilize a wholistic, biopsychosocial approach to mental health treatment, with treatment plans personalized to each of my patients. I help patients to learn to monitor their mental health symptoms effectively, and develop lifelong habits and routines that will continue to transform their lives even after concluding our work together.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outside, attending live music events, and snowboarding.
